Chaitanya Brandon Ives
Non-spiritual Beginnings
Chaitanya Brandon Ives did not grow up seeing auras or communing with forest nymphs. Raised in a secular, classically liberal family, his childhood was filled more with ski slopes and martial arts than temples or spiritual texts. Yet even then, the seeds of discipline, wonder, and movement were being quietly sown.
A Shattering of Certainty
It wasn’t until his mid-twenties, after a soul-searching plunge into philosophy and filmmaking in New York City during his college years, that a series of unexpected heart-openings and uncanny synchronicities broke through the everyday and left him face to face with something undeniable: the felt existence of a hidden, living “fabric” embedded in the ordinary. Spirit—and even the word God, long dismissed by the thinkers he admired—suddenly moved from abstraction to an intuitve, felt possibility. But this connection was intermittent, elusive. When it was there – it was more real than anything. When closed, deep existential loneliness brought acute suffering. The inconsistency led him into a restless spiritual hunger—a “sampling,” even desperate grasping phase of teachings, techniques, and traditions in search of a lasting spark.
Discovering the Path of the Heart
That search eventually led him to Tucson, Arizona, and into the orbit of The Institute for Applied Meditation on the Heart—iamHeart—where he encountered the living transmission of Heart Rhythm Meditation. Something clicked—not in theory, but in experience. His heart began to melt. What began as curiosity gave way to discipline, then quiet devotion. From 2012 to 2018, Chaitanya immersed himself in daily practice, supported by a hybrid (online/in-person) spiritual community and guided by his teachers, Puran and Susanna Bair, co-founders of iamHeart and successors in the lineage of Sufi Preacher Pir-O-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan.
Behind the Scenes of a Spiritual School
While not serving as a public teacher yet, he worked closely with Susanna, Puran, and the organization’s core team, playing a central role in the national coordination of their programs. It was during this time that he supported the launch of Hurqalya™ Energy Healing, witnessing firsthand the crystallization of decades of spiritual and theoretical knowledge into a powerful, heart-centered modality.
Into the Field: Becoming a Healer
Then, from 2017 to 2020, Chaitanya stepped into the unknown once again—this time as a full-time, traveling Hurqalya™ Healer. He offered one-on-one sessions and small group teachings across the U.S., often reaching people through the webs of connection woven during his iamHeart years. Known for his grounded presence and refined energetic sensitivity, he became particularly recognized for his use of vocalized sound in healing—a signature element of the Hurqalya™ approach. Today, he is the method’s most experienced practitioner.
The Body Mind Heart Connection -The Heart as Instrument
His path has also been shaped by years of training in Taekwondo, Yoga, and Baguazhang, an internal Taoist martial art that complements the energetic principles of energy healing. Both Yoga and Bagua invite the practitioner to unify breath, body, and intention—to listen inwardly, to move from center, and to flow with precision. This embodied sensitivity informs his work in ways clients and students often feel but can’t always name.
“Hands OFF” Healing | Hands-On Devotion
In parallel with his spiritual path, Chaitanya has long expressed himself through a blend of technical craftsmanship and art—first as a filmmaker and sound designer, and later as a skilled woodworker and finish carpenter, creating physical forms imbued with presence and reverence for organic beauty.
A Life Rooted in Love and Heart
Now living in the mountains of Colorado with his wife, Pamela—whom he met in 2020 and married in July 2024—Chaitanya continues to offer online healing, meditation mentorship, and fine woodworking as a unified expression of life’s unfolding. Whether guiding a session, teaching a practice, or beautifying a client’s home with care, his intention remains the same: to awaken beauty, vitality, and clarity—through the heart, in all its mystery and grace.
